'Psych' is a detective comedy that follows main character Shawn Spencer as he uses his "psychic abilities" to solve cases for the police department and clients as his private detective agency.  What the police and his clients don't know is that Shawn does not possess any psychic abilities.  His ability to solve cases comes from his photographic memory and a keen eye for even the smallest details.  Shawn is aided by his erstwhile partner and best friend Gus, and is constantly warring with police detective Carlton Lassiter.  The show also delves into Shawn's past and his shaky relationship with his father, retired police officer Henry Spencer.

'Psych' was created by Steve Franks and airs on Friday nights at 10 p.m. on the USA network.  Though the show takes place in Santa Barbara, CA, it is filmed in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
